More zoo day activities

We were all working very hard!
We all enjoyed showing our work to our parents and visitors

Animaltastic Zoo Day

We had a great day on Friday when the Year 1 and 2 children in Rooms 4, 5 and 6 opened their Animaltastic Zoo for our visitors. We have been learning about the jobs people do at a zoo. We have also been learning about how to make mind maps and write reports ( if you haven't already, check out the fantastic animal reports the children did at home and at school).

The three classes worked together collaboratively for the inquiry unit and the children worked in small groups to make some wonderful animal dioramas.

On our zoo day we all had jobs to do.
We were vets
Builders/maintenance workers - making a kiwi house.
Office staff selling the tickets and distributing maps of the zoo.
Zoo keepers.
Cafe and gift shop staff.

Hooray

Hooray our blog is up and running again. Here a just a few of the activities we have been doing so far this term.

Listening to a zoo keeper and asking lots of questions about her job.
Working with our Year 3 and 4 buddies- skip counting in 2s, 5s and 10s on the court.

Learning a new game. The Year 7&8 students taught us how to play baton hockey. They were great teachers and the children loved it.
